Retro Robot

A retro-sci-fi robot you can talk to — running entirely in your browser.

Speak into the mic and it listens with Whisper, thinks with an in-browser language model on your GPU, and answers in a ring-modulated robot voice — while a neural network on screen pulses in sync with the actual speech waveform. Vacuum tubes, magnetic tape, dramatic status lights; clipped sentences, occasional Yoda grammar. Nothing you say leaves your machine — there is no server and no API key. Models download once (~2.4 GB) and are cached by the browser.

Needs a WebGPU browser — Chrome or Edge on a reasonably recent machine. First launch downloads the models; after that it even works offline.
